How to decorate your mobile home to look like a house
Because of the way that mobile homes are constructed, there are often marked differences between a mobile and a traditional house. Recasting these differences, you can create a space that looks and feels just like the home you’ve always wanted. As mobile homes do not offer as much freedom to move walls and change the construction, focus on remodeling aesthetic functions that make the most impact. Today we cover here how to decorate your mobile home and how to remodel your mobile home.
The kitchen and bathrooms
The kitchen and bath areas offer an excellent starting point for changing the appearance of your mobile home. Simple cosmetic changes like changing equipment, faucets and lighting fixtures can do wonders. But more detailed changes, such as removing the old counter tops and installation of granite materials really make a difference. Also consider replacing the cabinet doors for more traditional doors, or paint the cabinets to give them a face lift.
It is often the small details that make the difference in a mobile home. If your roof allows, add lighting, which gives the illusion of a traditional roof. Paint walls to counteract the occurrence of any vinyl or panel. Use curtains on the windows and rugs on the floors to soften the look of the room. But do not be afraid to tackle some larger remodeling possibilities, such as replacing the floor with a wood or laminate that flows through all rooms. Add coating of walls and baseboards or moldings in the ceiling corners. Take everything that screams “mobile home”, if possible, such as doors accordion. Replace this with folding doors or curtains.
There are several things you can do to make a mobile home is more like a traditional house from the outside. Probably the biggest impact is in gardening. By planting a few shrubs around the perimeter of the house and creating a garden area in front of one or both sides of the door, creates the illusion of a standard house. Plant a tree or two and standing grass to further add a sense of home. If you can, make a walk through your lawn or garden with cement or steps leading from the front door to the sidewalk or parking area.
Beyond the landscape, there are several options to create the appearance remodeling. Paint the outside of the house in a neutral color such as cream, gray, white or beige, or replace the worn vinyl with a wood composite. Connect borders around the windows , if there is none, and paint it white. Add shutters outside the windows and paint them in a cheerful tone as the yellow light blue, or red. Add bordered to the base of the house if there is none. For a really big impact, add a gable roof with skirts that extend beyond the structure to create a patio area.
